About Cylindrical Roller Thrust Bearings

Cindrical roller thrust bearings are designed to accommodate heavy axial loads and shock loads. They must not be subjected to any radial load.

The ends of the rollers are relieved slightly to modify the line contact between the raceways and rollers. This prevents stress peaks at the roller ends to extend bearing service life.
Cylindrical Roller Thrust Bearings have particularly small axial section width, high load carrying capacity and high rigidity. They can support axial forces in one direction. Cylindrical Roller Thrust Bearings are a combination of axial cylindrical roller cage assembly, shaft and housing locating washers.

Cylindrical Roller Thrust Bearings are often used for bearing arrangements when capacity load of Thrust Ball Bearings come against limiting factors.

Axial cylindrical roller cage assemblies consist of a cage as well as one or two rows of cylindrical rollers and have a small axial width. They are used as a combination of shaft and housing washers.

Always put oiled paper or, if not available, put plastic sheets between rollers and cup races of tapered roller bearings.
